Dundee Township’s early beginnings, development and legacy are the result of an unimaginable number of peoples, businesses and events  encompassing nearly two centuries. Each person, event and establishment represents a thread that has been woven into its tapestry.

This volume is the culmination of nearly twenty years of research,  digging into microfilm at public libraries; locating and researching historical volumes published over a century ago; reviewing newspaper articles from across the nation, many dating back to the early 1800’s; perusing photos and documents preserved in the Library of Congress; interviewing peoples and families, and attaining family and private photos previously unknown to the public.

Unlike a novel or short story that has a beginning, body and conclusion; each chapter, each topic under discussion in this book, is a story unto itself. The combination of these stories make up the fabric, the tapestry we know as Dundee Township.
